Meet Rudder

He's a sweet tart.  :o)  He frequently finds his way into a lot of my posts, so I figured it's about time for a formal introduction to my little buddy.  EatPrayTri hosts a pet-related link up called 23 Paws once a month, giving me the perfect excuse to dedicate an entire post to the Ruddster.  :o)

So here is a bit about Rudder:

Rudder is a three and a half year old English Springer Spaniel with beautiful olive green eyes (thus one of his many nicknames, Mr. Martini Eyes) and a crazy hairdo on top of his noggin.

He wiggled his way into my life just over two years ago.  Ok, now the how I ended up with him story is one of those complicated string of people who knew other people who worked with... well you get the point.  Long story short, a coworker sent me an email with his picture, and I called and got directions to the trailer of the family who initially rescued him from one of their coworkers.  He was just over a year old at that time, and prior to his initial rescuers, was kept in a crate for up to 22 hours a day.  Horrible huh?  I didn't intend to come home with a dog that day, but he was so sweet and wiggled his little nubbin of a tail like the Cocker Spaniel we had growing up, Libby, and I just couldn't help myself.  Two years later, he's curled up beside me on my bed (yes, he's spoiled).  He's a tennis-ball chasing, bird-hunting dog wanna-be, water loving, lap sitting, dirt attracting, front seat sitting, springy, glued to your hip spaniel, and I wouldn't have him any other way.  :o)

So, I think I'll try to have a Rudder specific post once a month for the link up, so I won't overshare too much about him just yet.  :o)
